The Mimic Control Chapter 4 Guide
Finale Overview
Control Chapter 4 is the climax of Control's Book — longer corridors, multi-phase objective chains, and chase segments that assume mastery from Chapters 1–3. First clears feel marathon-length; route familiarity cuts time dramatically.
The chapter recombines mechanics: hub backtracking, vertical drops, timed doors, and high-pressure finales where Hiachi pressure peaks. Treat this as an exam on everything prior.
Equip your best lantern and review consumables before queueing. Finale segments rarely allow shopping breaks.
Act One — Reassembly
Early Chapter 4 scatters key objects across wings you partially recognize from earlier chapters reskinned. Do not assume old shortcuts stay unlocked — some doors are one-way until story flags update.
Reassembly puzzles require carrying multiple items simultaneously in solo. Plan path order to minimize double-back through Hiachi loops. Co-op squads should assign courier roles.
Maintain crouch through memorial hall — sprint triggers long-distance audio aggro.
Act Two — Chase & Gate
Mid-chapter chase compresses mistakes. Pre-learn gate lever order on practice runs even if it costs a revive — muscle memory matters more than loot here.
During chase, break sight using pillar rings documented on Control maps. Random door hiding fails when doors open outward into patrol paths.
If revives are limited, prioritize learning chase loop over puzzle optimization first.
After Control's Book
Clearing Chapter 4 unlocks Jealousy's Book progression and advanced modes. Transition guides: Jealousy Chapter 1.
Nightmare Control runs reuse these maps with faster timing — see Nightmare guide.
Celebrate clears, then study Jealousy entities — difficulty jumps significantly.
